Tara Outre Velvet Remy #2

Hello and sorry for being MIA for two weeks. In one of my other post I know I stated I had been on the search for a wig cap, and I still am. I have ordered wig caps from China and have not utilized them on my clients yet. I will be working on the one I want to use, but in the mean time, the cap I used was from his and hers. The cap is sturdy, but it has to be customized, meaning, clips may have to be added, cutting the cap, ect.

I made the wig with my sewing machine and will be purchasing it again because I love the bump in the hair. Here is a quick video of me utilizing my sewing machine making the wig.

The wig cap I used I did not like because I don't like the straps on the back, when pulling them out the straps can be seen to me, maybe not, but I just don't care for the straps. Anyway, the hair is beautiful. Outre Velvet Remy is not to bad of hair, I will be using the Velvet Remy Duby and making a bob with a closure.

My first customized wig

So I have been playing with wigs for quite some time, but I decided to start customizing them to my liking. In 2015' I plan on selling them, but since I still have quite a bit of training to do, I will updating my blog along with youtube videos on my progress on any future projects.

My wig that I made was with my Mayvenn hair. I love the wig I made, I have used it on two wigs and the second one I like better.

Customizing my wigs is something I love to do. It could be as simple as shampooing and molding the wig and drying it. Even the mixed fiber hair is participating. The wig making is coming along beautifully, just customizing caps and its working out fine so far. I may have to customized the wig caps because they just don't work for me.

The video above briefly describes what I do when I make my wig cap. The wig caps in beauty supplies are thin and crappy. I won't stop until I make one I like.
